We are very excited to share that our recent MyoFit46 work, investigating how lifelong blood pressure patterns affect blood flow to the heart in later life, has received widespread media coverage.
The research, led by Constantin-Cristian Topriceanu, found that individuals with higher blood pressure throughout adulthood, or whose blood pressure rose more steeply over time, had noticeably lower blood flow to the heart at age 77. Additionally, these reductions in blood flow were linked with an increased risk of major heart problems, including heart attacks and stroke. This highlights the importance of detecting and managing high blood pressure early in life, to help protect heart health later in life.
